"Paysages de Ciels" means Sky Landscapes. In order to paint the mood of the sky, I work very quickly as it rapidly changes before me. The challenge is to capture the poetry of a moment in time. I avoid unnecessary details, concentrating instead on the composition created by the cloud formations, the quality of light, and the gradation of color. Venice is one of my favorite cities. I love how the ancient buildings reflect in the moving waters of its numerous canals. The light combines with the moisture in the air to create a luminous, shimmering quality - all ideal for the plein air painter. Burano, with its brightly colored houses, is one of the many islands found in the Venetian lagoon. In ancient times, the people painted the houses to indicate that they were unaffected by the plague. Today, these colors continously inspire and delight those of us who visit.

The scenery of France, my native country, is quite varied with its rocky shorelines, picturesque countryside, small medieval villages, historical monuments, and numerous castles and churches. I am particularly inspired by the natural beauty of Brittany's coastline in northwestern France, where I grew up.
